Having a tough time getting the lambs weaned and some nice pictures of them when this is what they are dealing with... I took the pictures below from the shelter of the house while Jordan boats on the lawn in the rain!

Well rain has delayed things... so weaning will take place shortly and once the lambs have adjusted pictures will be posted.  Below are some of the new lambs that have just started arriving from the first timers, so far only one single.

JJCM 173Y - and the only single born so far... sired by

Not much time for pictures and updating the blog lately... busy helping with seeding!  But as Jordan and I were moving the pea roller through the sheep pasture to get to the other field of peas, I snapped this with my cell phone so it isn't the best quality!  Also once I get time, the May lambs have started arriving and of course 3 first timers lambed so far and all three have twins... looks like the numbers are going to be high on them just like the winter borns...

JJCM 102T and her quads that need to be weaned... which
is on the list as soon as we either finish seeding or it rains again!

Sorry, I haven't posted updated pictures in a while... the weather just hasn't been all that nice so it is hard to get photos of the lambs when they are dry!  I know the first picture isn't actually of lambs and it was taken Easter weekend... but it sort of shows what the lambs are dealing with these days - rain, snow, drizzle, fog, a bit of sun and then repeat all over again...

Easter snowfall... hoping that's the end of the white stuff
for this spring!

JJCM 102T and her quads - I can't say enough good things
about this ewe and her job of raising these lambs.  I will say
that only one is a female and we will be retaining her!
The other 3 are ram lambs and so far the potential is there
to be future flock sires...

One of our guard dogs...

After a lot of barking while we were doing chores this morning, we went to see what was wrong and this is what we found...

Sammie and her kill!
(I'm told Sammie is a Great Pyreneese/Meremma cross... Jeff thinks I
came home with a border collie mixed in there... either way she does her job!)

Like always 100% purebred Katahdin sheep...

JJCM 51Y and her daughter JJCM 391Z
Born Mar. 29th
Birth Weight 12.7lbs
The first timers are not due till the end of May with the
exception of this girl.  She crawled through the fence
in the fall and got in with BRT 213W.
The result is a very nice ewe lamb!

Triplets born Mar. 21st

JJCM 357W and her twins sired by Red Bull.
Born Mar. 1st

JJCM 153T and her twin ram lambs
Born Mar. 10th
This ewe has now given us 12 lambs and she will be 5 years
old in May. She has never had a single, raises triplets on her own
and always sheds out wonderfully.
Update: Both these ram lambs have sales pending.
